Desert Rose

                                                          "Desert Rose" Oil on canvas

Desert Rose holds a dear spot in my heart. The photo I used to paint this one was from my late sister Dorothy. She was living out in CO when she snapped the photo of the wild horse for me. She knew my love of these wonderful animals and got the shot for me. She also picked up a beautiful pink rock for me where the horse was standing. I still have both the rock and the painting here at my home in GA.

Friendly Competition

                                                   "Friendly Competition" Oil on canvas

This is a oil painting I did several years ago of two young ladies looking at their pattern at a horse show at Chateau Elan in NE GA.

Shadow Horse

"Shadow Horse" oil on canvas

This is one of my oil paintings I painted from a photo of two draft horses on a farm in NE GA. They were standing in the sun on a cold Nov. morning.  I loved the way the black horse cast a shadow on the blue roan standing beside him.

I figured this is a new year and a new adventure for me Blogging! I love to share my art and sometimes my thoughts. I've been painting and drawing almost all my life and it is something I do for the pure pleasure of it. I paint with oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and graphite.
Most of my art is equine because they are dear and near to my heart. I take hundreds of photos of them here at our farm, at horse shows and other equine events.
I am a current member of the Currahee Arts Guild in Toccoa Georgia, Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville Georgia and The Art League in Gainesville Georgia. I show in local and juried shows in our area.
I love to be with other artist to share our ideas and knowledge of our different and varied methods of painting.
I can stay hours in galleries and museums looking and admiring other artist works. You can learn so much from other artist.
I'll be posting some paintings and sketches from time to time.
Thanks,
Bonnie
